A miniature tsunami hit coastal areas of Turkey that were triggered by an earthquake in the Aegean Sea. Many houses, workplaces, and vehicles were damaged in the neighborhood, where sea waters rise about 2 meters. Dozens of boats were sunk and damaged.
Turkey is among the world’s most seismically active zones and has suffered devastating earthquakes, including the 1999 Marmara quake.
